Bachelor of International Hospitality & Tourism Management (Top Up)

The Bachelor of International Hospitality & Tourism Management (Top Up) programme provides students with advanced knowledge of management for the tourism and hospitality industry and its trade secrets. Students will study the techniques of the Swiss hospitality and tourism management, as they focus on how they can become self-employed in the tourism and hospitality sector as well as how they can become a middle-level manager in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Entry Requirements

Age Qualification

  • Must be 19 years old and older at the time of enrollment

Academic Qualification with Working Experience

  • advanced diploma degree in any discipline (business or hospitality preferred) with a minimum of 120 ECTS or equivalent OR
  • diploma or associate diploma degree in any discipline (business or hospitality preferred) with a minimum of 60 ECTS or equivalent, plus 2-years working experience OR
  • high school certificate plus 5-years working experience

English Qualification

  • IELTS 5.0 or equivalent OR
  • exempted if English is language of instruction of prior program OR
  • reach level B1 at https://www.efset.org/ef-set-50

Programme Structure

Students must successfully complete:  5 core courses and full-time internship

Credits:  60 ECTS

Please Note:  Upon successfully completing the program requirements, students will earn a La Xenia International Institute of Switzerland – Bachelor of International Hospitality & Tourism Management

Core Courses

Study the following courses for a period of 2 months then 3 months for a total of 5 months:


  • The Strategic Impact of the Business Environment

  • Business Strategy for Hospitality and Tourism

  • Managing Events for Hospitality and Tourism

  • Quality Management for Hospitality and Tourism

  • German

    Please note: if a student chooses the “Apprenticeship in Germany” programme enhancement the student will study additional hours per week)


Study Break

for 2 months

Please note: Accommodation is not included during study break, students must arrange for their own accommodation.


Internship

Practical paid internship for 8 weeks (2 months)

Practical paid internship for 12 weeks (3 months)


Note:  Upon successful completion of studies and internship students will receive a Bachelor of International Hospitality & Tourism Management from La Xenia International Institute of Switzerland, Switzerland.
