English Language Assessment
A Simple Way to Assess Your English.
La Xenia can provide a set of English placement tests when necessary to assess a prospective student’s English proficiency level.
Students who do not yet satisfy the language requirement may choose to combine their programme with the English for Tourism & Hospitality qualification to help raise their fluency to the required level.
Important
Admission Requirements and Visa Requirements Are Different.
La Xenia’s placement-test options can be used to help assess English proficiency for admission where applicable.
However, students applying to study on-site in Switzerland who require a student visa must also satisfy the requirements of the relevant Swiss Embassy or immigration authority.
A Swiss Embassy may require IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or another officially recognised English-language test, even where La Xenia would otherwise accept an internal or online placement assessment for admission purposes.
La Xenia cannot waive, replace or override English-language evidence required by an embassy or immigration authority. Applicants must comply with the requirements applicable to their individual visa application.
Placement Test Route
Taking the Online Test.
Where a formal external English test is not required, prospective students may use one of the following online tests as an indicative assessment of their English level.

Choose a Test
Visit Testpodium or EF SET .

Create Your Account
Create your own login and password if required by the selected testing website.

Select the Correct Test
For Testpodium, select Test Level 2.
For EF SET, select EF SET 50.

Complete the Test
Complete the selected English assessment online.

Send Us Your Result
Email your result to admissions@laxenia.ch .
La Xenia Admissions will provide feedback about your English level and your eligibility to enrol in an appropriate programme.

The online tests above are indicative placement tools and may not be recognised as evidence of English proficiency for a Swiss student visa.
Visa requirements can vary by applicant and by Swiss Embassy. If your Embassy requests IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or another recognised qualification, that requirement must be followed.
