La Xenia was established to provide affordable hospitality education to everyone who has a passion to serve customers at the highest quality.

The hospitality education industry is a very popular and growing industry with millions of students graduating and taking up jobs all around the world. It’s the perfect match for young travelers who wish to see the world.

Chairman

Professor Walter Wong is an Australian citizen but was born and bred in Malaysia. Professor Wong has spent 54 years practicing as an engineer, a researcher and an academia working in Australia, United Kingdom, Norway, United States of America, Papua New Guinea, and now in Malaysia. He spent several sabbatical appointments as Visiting Professor in USA, Germany, Norway, United Kingdom and China. Altogether he has published 175 articles in refereed journals,  book chapters, conference proceeding papers, and research reports and he has been successful in obtaining some AUD60m of research  grants from industry, government, and universities. Professionally, he is a fellow of a number of professional engineering institutions and has served on various boards. He retired in December 2004 after having served as the inaugural Vice-Chancellor at the University of  Vudal, Papua New Guinea. Since January 2016, he has taken a new role as Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor, BERJAYA University  College (formerly known as Berjaya University College of Hospitality).

Mae Ho Seok Khen

Mae Ho has been in the hospitality industry for more than three decades. Trained in England in Hospitality Management her specialisation is in cuisine, patisserie, restaurant service and oenology. She took her first step towards the Hospitality Industry as a lecturer and then as the Dean of the School of Hotel and Catering Management at KDU, Petaling Jaya.

Mae was appointed Director of the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Sunway College from 1997 until 2007. During her tenure, she was appointed Project Director for the China operations to set up the Xian-Sunway International Business Management to conduct corporate training programmes and summer schools. Mae sits on the panel of judges for the Hospitality Asia Platinum Award (HAPA) and her judging stretches across the ASEAN Continent for Service Excellence Awards, 5-Star Hotel/Resorts, Passions of Hospitality (Master of Fine Cuisine), Flavours of Hospitality (Restaurants/Night Spot) and Industry Recognition Award.

Roy Prasad has 20+ years of extensive business background in international, multicultural environments in financial services, tech start-up, geospatial, media, health, property & construction, government and HR industries. 

A senior executive with documented record of strong, decisive executive leadership in organisations ranging from start-up to multinational environment. Extensive experience in managing cross-cultural boundaries within S.E. Asia; highly successful in building relationships with C-Suite management and Country Dignitaries, understands the sensitive relationships between Government and business influencers, manage expectations and delivery to customer commitments. Valued contributor to key strategic acquisitions and highly successful joint ventures. 

Experienced with hands-on implementation of digital and smart device platform development and customisation. Highly performance driven, led and motivated teams between Australia, Asia, UK and Middle East. Management style centred on impact-driven financial models and strategies. Strong boardroom presence.
